Puck drops on 2007-08 for five Red Wings prospects ...

The season is already underway for five Detroit Red Wings prospects who will spend the year in the Canadian Hockey League.
Forwards Jan Mursak (Saginaw Spirit), Cory Emmerton (Kingston Frontenacs) and Zack Torquato (Erie Otters) are playing in the Ontario Hockey League; defenseman Logan Pyett (Regina Pats) is skating in the Western Hockey League; and forward Randy Cameron (Moncton Wildcats) is competing in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League.
Cameron, drafted 148th overall this summer, has had the most productive start, with two goals and an assist in two games. He scored the game-winner in a 3-2 win over the Halifax Mooseheads on Saturday night.
Emmerton and Torquato each have a goal and an assist in two games, while Mursak has an assist in two games and Pyett has a goal in two games.
RWC Report will appear weekly on Mondays throughout the season.
SWEDISH REPORT: Forwards Dick Axelsson (one goal, 12 penalty minutes, two games) and Joakim Andersson (one goal, one game) and Anton Axelsson (one goal, three games) have wrapped up Swedish pre-season play. So has goaltender Daniel Larsson (five goals allowed on 61 shots in two starts). The regular season is set to begin on Monday.
RECENT NOTES: Pyett was named captain of the Pats last week ... Pyett (two goals, two assists, eight penalty minutes, seven games) and Emmerton (no points, two penalty minutes, seven games) helped Canada to a 7-0-1 record against Russia in the Super Series in August ... Mursak is in the 175-pound range after adding 10 pounds of off-season strength ... Goaltender Jimmy Howard reported to camp 20 pounds lighter than last year ...
