| The Red Wings have had their eye on Piche for a long time, but when the undrafted blue-liner busted out for a 23-goal, 72-point QMJHL campaign with the Rimouski Oceanic in 2008-09, they locked him up. They needed AHL blue-line depth in 2009-10 anyway, and Piche gives them a kid with solid upside in the process. He will fight for regular ice time in Grand Rapids in 2009-10. |
