- Struggled in the playoffs, scoring just once in 10 games.

- Linemates with Ilya Kovalchuk and Pavel Datsyuk at World Championship.
- Broken left femur, two fractures in left tibia after May 16 car accident.
- Suffered life-threatening fat embolism in lung while in hospital, but managed to recover.
- Released from hospital on June 11 to rehab at his home in Russia.

2003-04:
- Flew to training camp in Traverse City to meet with management.
- Made comeback in Russia's third-tier league (6-2-2-4) in December.
- Underwent surgery in January to stop pain in his toes.
- Made another comeback, playing three games during playoffs in Russia's top league.
- Had rod removed from femur in May.

2004-05:
- Got back into action with Lada Togliatti of Russian Elite League to start season (11-0-0-0-31).
- Relegated to fourth-line duty because of influx of NHLers and requested transfer.
- Transferred to Salavat Yulaev in the city of Ufa in early November.
- Pointless in first five games with Ufa, then scored 11 goals and seven assists in final 25 contests.
- Transferred to Cherepovets of Russian Elite League for start of 2005-06.

2005-06:
- Began season with 12 points (four goals and eight assists) in first 12 games with Cherepovets.
- Had 22 points in final 38 games to finish tied for 18th in Russian Elite League scoring.
- Played several games for the Russian national team in pre-Olympic exhibition play.

- Red Wings assistant GM Jim Nill says in January he intends to sign Grigorenko in off-season.
- Finished strong with 13 goals in final 30 games (30-13-6-19).
- Placed 53rd in Russian Elite League scoring and second in team scoring (49-14-13-27).

- Lada Togliatti swept in three straight in the best-of-five first playoff round.

2007-08:
