SCOUT COMMENTS
"He's got a great head for the game. He does all the little things well, and that's what I like about him. If he can get stronger, he can be a little bit like a (Ottawa Senators forward) Mike Fisher." — Red Wings assistant general manager Jim Nill (June 2007).

STRENGTHS
Superb two-way hockey smarts ... Can contribute in any situation at junior level ... Good hands ... Smart playmaker ... Quick shooting release ... Above average on faceoffs ... Versatile ... Capable of playing center and either wing ... Chases pucks with intensity ... Extremely hard worker.

WEAKNESSES
Has always been a smaller player and needs to get stronger ... Smooth skater but has just average speed ... Needs to significantly increase his production at the junior level and show he can contribute offensively in addition to his all-around game.

PROJECTION
Cameron has a two-way feel for hockey that the Red Wings coveted, but he didn't show enough improvement in two seasons after being drafted to warrant a contract. He wasn't sign by the June 1, 2009, deadline and is no longer Detroit property.
