*To the tune of "Let it Snow*
Oh the Lions really got bitch-slapped
All around Qualcomm.
They're nowhere near as good as San Diego,
Lions blow, Lions blow, Lions blow.
Fire Martz now. Bring in someone who knows that you have to run the ball mroe than 8 or 9 times a game to win in the NFL.
Cut Lard ass as soon as it's feasible for cap purposes, unless you can find someone dumb enough to to give them a couple flat footballs for him. Talent is meaningless when you're too fat to be on the field.
Put Shitna on the bench since he can't seem to figure out that throwing into double and triple coverage is a bad thing and have O'Sullivan and Orlovsky split the snaps the rest of the season. If one or both of them show they have some talent, keep them, otherwise get rid of all 3 QBs.
Either move Backus to RT or cut him. He's too slow to play LT in the NFL. Speed rushers eat him alive.
Find a decent guard instead of other team's cast-offs, and be looking for an upgrade at center.
Find at least one decent corner back who can stay healthy for a full year once in awhile and get rid of Bryant.
Tell Millen either he's going to move to the Detroit area and actually start acting like he has a brain or fire him. The only reason I don't want him gone immediately is because I think Marinelli is a good coach, he just has nothing to work with defensively and his offensive coordinator sabotages his game plans by refusing to run the ball. I'm afraid that if a new GM comes in, he'll want to bring his own coaching staff too, and I don't need to see another recycled coach who's already been fired from 5 teams come in, or some hot college coach who can come in, try to treat the NFL players like college kids and run a college offense.
And 6-10 doesn't surprise me much even after their 6-2 start. I've said all along that they didn't beat a single good team, and most of the games they did win they should have lost. They did just well enough so that they won't have a top 5 pick to blow this year.
Reggie Dunlop: What are you guys doing?
Steve Hanson: Puttin' on the foil!
Jeff Hanson: Every game!
Jack Hanson: Yeah, you want some?
