Ah you poor, confused old man. I'm seriously starting to think you can't read. Try putting the bifocals on this time, (if you can still strap them around your fat head) and put the meatball sandwich down for just a second.

That has to be the dumbest statement you've ever made (or hinted at). Herbstreit didn't orchestrate anything to hurt Michigan. And I certainly never said he did. His comments were not fair to any of the parties involved, but Miles was the one who had to explain himself to his team on their game day. He was the one calling the angry news conference and looking like he requested that the Brinks truck should back up ever so slowly to his front door. So I'm not quite sure how you get to Michigan or their fans being hurt by it. A coach who was 'reported' to be a top candidate decided to stay with his current school. So what? But I'll just assume like everything else, you simply weren't paying attention. Par for the course.

The fact of the matter is, Herby just happens to be one of many boobs in the world who is too stupid to do his job correctly. Just another part of an ever-reaching media looking for a scoop. I was merely pointing that out. And there's lots of them out there, with an overwhelming percentage tending to "retire" early.

Ladies and Gentleman:

The title of the thread at the RCMB linked above clearly states that UM fans were calling into a radio station claiming Herbstreit did it on purpose to scuttle UM’s plans to hire Miles. This fact seems to have flown over the balding head of the resident Walmart Wolverine here.

Just to be clear, I didn’t start the thread. I didn’t even post in the thread. I just read the thread and found it funny. The RCMB founder, Tervor Barnes, started the thread as it was he who was listening to the radio at the time.

My point in posting the link was to show that there really are Michigan fans out there thinking it was a conspiracy on Herbstreit’s part.

Spartan fans laugh at all Walmart Wolverines—internet wide. It’s what we do.

I hope this clears up any confusion other WWs lurking here may have and I thank you for your attention.

That is all..

Off-topic but related to a previous point I made....

The former Ohio State quarterback doesn’t think he was set up by his source - or used to plant disinformation. But he seems to regret his foray into reporting from game analysis. “I’d much rather talk about Cover 2, what safeties are doing and quarterbacks.”

Ah, and on that point Herbie, I think we can all agree.

Poor Herbie got in over his head. He said his facts were right but the thing is, it is also being reported that Martin needed a face to face interview before offering the job even though the contract details had been worked out in principal. And Miles worried that some still opposed him, especially Carr. So when Herb jumped the gun, Miles spooked.....and then became one of the richest coaches in America. I think it worked out well for Miles.

More from Herbie:

"Herbstreit says he was a victim of timing. He says he got his information from an unnamed source during the week. But within hours of his report, Miles forged a lucrative agreement with LSU. “When I made that report public, it was very accurate. At that point, the wheels started to move. LSU, to their credit, got proactive and didn’t allow Les to go (to Michigan)".

The only thing Herbie did wrong was forget to call the coach to double check before he aired it. Minor detail. Why would you ever bother to call the guy who IS the story? It appears a beat reporter from AA was able to check that box on her reporter checklist.

Come on, quit joking around. Is Herbie isn't posting on our board? I know I've read his type of "logic" somewhere before....

Gotta agree. Lost in all the BS is that Miles is pretty darn set for the rest of his career. He played LSU like a drum and got his cash.

Just to be clear, I didn't write that originally, I just found it of interest from an article that I read, so I posted it and attributed it as automatically being the thoughts of another poster.
