Actually, I'm thinking Octo is the UM poster "Wolverito" on that Sparty board thread who, after seeing those pictures said, "I can't defend this."

LOL!!

Actually, I'm that glandularly-challenged guy in the cape. My wife made me the outfit. Sometimes, she wears the "Sparty" costume, and we play "Oz" on Date Night. The HBO series, not the "Wonderful Wizard Of." I'm the pitcher, as if there was any doubt.

The guy in the cape is Superfan. Reknowned for attending every Michigan football, hockey, basketball, and baseball game, as well as many other UM sporting events. He always has his cow bell and is leading the chants. There's been a few different guys over the year that have assumed the role (Superfan II, Superfan III, etc.), but Superfan has been around for at least 10 years. He's not a walmart wolverine, but apparently he interacts with them lol.

Yep, here's Superfan when Crable gave that Appy State player a free lane to UM's kicker at the end of the game:

(I'm serial. It was posted on either the Freep or DetNews the next day).

Geez...is it my eyes, or has Superfan super-sized himself, during this season? Or was the other picture taken earlier, before he started training for the season? Or is it a different Superfan entirely?

Anyway, for the record, my sports-themed attire is limited to the following:

1) A vintage Detroit Pistons "Bad Boys" t-shirt (1989) (retired from circulation)
2) A t-shirt celebrating the Red Wings back-to-back Cups(1998) (retired)
3) A new Michigan t-shirt, standard blue with plain yellow block letters, just like the first one I bought back in '81, which finally disintegrated. Worn mostly at home, for just the big games.
4) A Detroit Tigers road jersey, with no name or number, just "Tigers" across the front. (not retired, but rarely worn)

Once upon a time I had a great Michigan sweatshirt, but I lost it on a trip some years back. I have too many other sweatshirts, and I'm not big on buying clothes, so I won't be replacing that one.

Superfan is a little large, but I think his cape is draped over his arms while he has his hands on his hips in that one picture, effectively making him look even bigger.

I root for UofM but these are still pretty funny:

Q. How many batteries does it take to beat UofM?
A. 1 double-A

Q. How do you make UofM eggs?
A. Put them in a bowl and beat them for 3 hours.

Q. What do UofM and marijuana have in common?
A. They both get smoked in bowls.
I play hockey and I fornicate, cause those are the two most fun things to do in cold weather.

Had a visit to the Dr.'s office this morning. All the staff was clad in either OSU or UM attire. There were about 7 girls in OSU gear. All were well put together and at least average looking or better. 2 were in UM attire. Both of them seriously were around 300 lbs and that's probably being kind. Thought of this thread and had to be careful not to laugh out loud.
