You're giving the Tigers wayyyyyy to much credit here. I bet people like you were saying the same thing when they trade Jurrjens away for that bum Renteria.

Actually, I was pissed they traded for Retcharia. The idea is to get talent that will be around for a bit, not some guy with suspect defensive ability who is clearly on the downside of his career. For the most part, Dombrowski has done pretty well in trades. Remember Maybin being untouchable and was going to be a SUPASTAR? He's hitting .221 with 4 HR in 88 games for SD.

Steve Hanson: Puttin' on the foil!
Jeff Hanson: Every game!

Actually, Renteria is a pretty good player.........in the National League. He's always done well for those teams. Even won the WS MVP 2 yrs ago with the Giants. But when he played for the Tigers and Boston, he just plain sucked.

His defense was slipping when the Tigers traded for him. As far as the WSMVP goes, he got hot a the right time, he only hit .250 for them that year before he got hot during the series.

I never EVER thought Maybin was going to be a superstar and I was very happy when they traded him. That kid was so overhyped by everyone that he probably started believing his own hype.

I remember being at a game where maybin played for us and watching him in the outfield. He looked like a 12 yr old with a uniform that was about 3 sizes too big (AKA as the opposite of Lamont's problem).

It was probably one of Lamont's extra uniforms.

Anibal "Jarrod Washburn" Sanchez has been lit up in 3 of his 4 games so far. Posting about an 8 ERA since arriving here.

if anything, this trade has made our pitching situation more volatile. We were getting better production out of the revolving door of rookies then we are out of Sanchez.

If Detroit was going to give up their best prospect for a pitcher they should have gotten Greinke.

yeah but they got themselves a second baseman out of it too, and since coming to the tigers he's batting .304 with a .314 OBP that's not bad. So far I'm ok with this trade it sucks that Sanchez sucks but whatever
