Once we were playing and I got a high stick just above my eye. It was bleeding and there was no call, but the refs noticed it happen but didn't call a penalty because they said that I caused the other players stick to come up. I was also removed from the game because it wouldn't stop bleeding.PokerAndPucks wrote:jerrytimes wrote:I know, it's just really, really bad at this place.jaster wrote:jerrytimes wrote:It's cheaper and a lot easier to find a team.jaster wrote:You guys need to man up to ice hockey
Roller is indeed cheaper, and that is certainly a legitimate reason for one to get into it. But, in my experience, it definitely isn't any easier to find a team than in ice hockey. And just a heads up, reffing is pretty lousy everywhere (outside of juniors, college, and the pros; although, even that can be debated).
It's really really bad at every place. Lazerskate hired a couple new refs and they worked my game last night and did a decent job. The only thing that they missed was once they were both watching the play instead of the back side ref watching away. Also one of my players had his helmet ripped off his head and got a small cut. He jumped up and wanted to beat the crap out of the guy who did it, and apparently the ref thought he took his own helmet off because he was going to get the only penalty. Fortunately one of the owners was watching the game and talked to the ref so they both got 2 for roughing.
