Is it Saturday yet?

Circumstantial, perhaps, but I ust heard the same report, and the words they used were "sources "within the athletic department". If true, perhaps other teams will actually have to gameplan against Michigan next year. Lloyd essentially has about 12 plays he knows how to run on offense, 7 of which are "run middle". It ain't hard to figure out.

It was first reported on MGoblog yesterday afternoon. ESPN is now getting around to reporting on it.

Gotta love those 'big donor' know-nothing Walmart Wolvies--got their thumbs right on the pulse of things.
LOL!

Anyway, the dude at MGoBlog must have a source within the M football program because he nailed a scoop earlier this year, I believe.

Lol, um, the Carr rumors have been floating for a few years now. I beleive if they have a bead on Les Miles, Carr will walk. Otherwise, he'll be back for another year or two.

It's obvious you aren't working with too much firepower under that MSU hat, but the least you could do is retire that tired old Walmart line. It has that whinny little child sound too it.

On second thought, keep it, it fits.

You’re missing context. The speculation that Lllloyd would retire has been on-going for quite a while. What’s new is the rumor that he is, indeed, retiring and will be announcing it some time soon. This coming allegedly from someone inside the athletic department.

Walmart Wolvies being late to the party I can understand, but it’s pretty sad when an MSU grad has to provide the proper context to a Michigan grad about the coaching situation in Ann Arbor.

I think it's pretty well-established, this is Carr's last season as head coach. I'm pretty sure he knew that, heading into the season. Obviously, there were bigger things predicted for this team than what has panned out so far, but that's life in the Big Ten.

I think it's time for a new coach, and not because Carr is a bad one. Perception is reality, and too many people perceive Carr as being the cause of Michigan's losses to OSU of late. That kind of perception filters down to recruits, make no mistake about it.

I heard Nick Saban is on the short list.

Can you imagine?

Or Brian Kelly, who MSU passed on to hire Dantonio. Wouldn’t that be a kick in the nuts if Kelly came in to be the next UM coach to beat up on Little Brother?

It’s not going to happen, though. I can’t see M ever running the spread. It’s, um, “too gimmicky.”

And it won't be Saban. He's already established himself as a good 'ol southern boy: http://www.spartantailgate.com/forums/m ... abama.html

There were heavy rumors last summer too. I've been calling for Lloyd to step down for over 10 years. He has gotten by on the talent of his players and hasn't added much else. The app state loss has nothing to do with how I feel about him. I've been frustrated with his inability to manage a clock, his school-lot style playcalling, inability to recruit 1 kicker in over 10 years, etc. etc. etc. True-he's a character guy. That's important (and likely nothing you understand), but you also need to be able to coach and recruit too.

As a so-called MSU "fan", I'm sure you're quite familiar the specifics of coaching changes. I'm sure your hightened instincts will be able to alert us when the press conference is about to happen.

Carr earned the right to call his own departure when he won that half a national championship in ’97. That’s something you know-nothing, M-clad, pot-bellied hair-lips don’t understand, having been calling for his head for over ten years now.
