RedWingsCentral.com, published by freelance hockey writer Matthew Wuest, is an online magazine that concentrates on Detroit Red Wings prospects — providing information not readily available via Detroit’s major newspapers. The site’s goal is to complement media coverage offered by the Detroit Free Press, Detroit News and MLive.com.
The site has existed in one form or another since 1999, but found its current home at RedWingsCentral.com in April of 2001.
Matthew has spent the past decade writing about the sport for a variety of publications, including The Hockey News, ESPN, TSN.ca, NHL.com, McKeen’s Yearbook, Halifax Daily News and Metro Halifax. He also runs CapGeek.com, a creation that earned him the No. 98 spot on The Hockey News’s annual top 100 list of People of Power and Influence in 2011.
Sarah Lindenau is a contributor to the site, having covered training camps in Traverse City from 1999 to 2010 and providing feature stories and photos.
